About Sheephouse Heights
Sheephouse Heights is an ideal site for a wind farm as it has all the attributes that allow the maximum renewable energy generation with minimal environmental impact.
Site attributes
As part of the site selection process, initial feasibility studies were undertaken and these indicate that Sheephouse Heights had excellent potential because the site:
- Occupies an elevated position and has a very good source of harvestable wind
- Close grid connection, reducing the amount of cable needed
- Has constrained/sheltered views from the north
- Has no environmental designations within turbine envelope
- Has good transport access
