Benefits
Sheephouse Heights wind farm has a potential electricity generation capacity of up to 15 MW, which could supply the equivalent of approximately 9,000 homes per year with clean safe energy from renewable sources.
The project will also provide benefits to the local community including:
- Local employment and contracts during construction and on-going maintenance
- Creation of a community benefit fund
It is important that the issue of a community benefit fund is separated from the regulatory planning process. If the wind farm is granted planning permission, a trust fund would be established to administer the money which Evelop UK would donate to the local community over the lifetime of the wind farm.
The money would be available for local social and environmental improvements and the trust would decide how the money is spent. Please register and get in touch to tell us your ideas on how the fund could be used.
