Cultural Heritage
An assessment has already been undertaken to determine any potential effects of the wind farm on archaeological features. This has involved consultations with a number of relevant parties, along with desk based studies and site visits.
There are no Scheduled Ancient Monuments or listed buildings located within the site boundary, nor does any part of the site lie within a Registered Historic Park or Garden. Only one recorded historic feature lies within the site boundary. This is a boundary stone, listed at Grade II, located in the wall on the eastern side of Mortimer Road (south of Cranberry Farm). This feature will not be directly affected by the proposed development.
Appropriate intrusive archaeological works (such as trial trenching) have already been carried out at the locations of some of the turbines in advance of construction. In addition, an archaeological watching brief will be carried out during construction, so that any remains revealed can be recorded.
