The proposed 15MW wind farm, near to Penistone, could generate enough electricity to power the average needs of more than 9,000 homes.

The UK has committed to new EU energy targets to generate 15% of all energy from renewable sources by 2020. To meet its share the UK must make use of our abundant supplies of wind energy.

Approving projects like Sheephouse Heights is vital if we are serious about meeting these targets.

This wind farm proposal is supported by Penistone Friends of the Earth and Sheffield Campaign Against Climate Change.

Please join them in calling on Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council to approve the scheme and help cut carbon dioxide emissions.
